Ekphrasis is the use of vivid language to describe or respond to a work of visual art. I enjoy writing ekphrastic poems because it allows me to tell the story I see in the lines and colors. I often participate in The Ekphrastic Review’s bi-monthly ekphrastic challenge, and marvel at everyone’s unique interpretation of the same painting or photograph.
